Cable modem

A friend wanted me to connect up another PC within his office so he
could share files and connect to the internet on both.

Because of the site (really old building with very thick walls) and
distance I decided to go the wired route rather than wireless. I've
run the CAT5 cables and I thought I'd just put in an new ADSL router
but I've discovered that his current broadband is delivered via a
Motorola cable modem from Telewest which is served by a cable with an F
connector on the end...

My thoughts now are to leave that alone then and put in a small 4 or 5
port Switch between the modem and the two PCs. Is that the best option
or should I still look at replacing the Motorola with a more up to date
ADSL modem/router? If so how do I convert the F connector to RJ45?

Thanks

Malcolm
