Re: Re: 1U Rackmount Power Conditioner

Hi Andy,

Yeah, the crap runtime is a problem. Shame I can't plug a 1U double
conver=
sion UPS into my 3000VA UPSs to extend the runtime -but daisy chaining
UPSs=
is a no no.

Can you quote me for the APC 2U unit - offlist please.

Thanks

Simon

Simon,

The problem with 1U UPSs is the batteries are very small, so runtime=20
is very short.
The APC 1Us I've seen had the equivalent of a single 12v 7Ah battery.
Can run 100 watt load for about 20 minutes.
Most servers are 200+ watts.

I have a new boxed APC 2U rackmount double conversion UPS. And a=20
lot of extra battery cabinets for it.

Regards
Andy

Came across it the other day as I'm currently looking for a a small=20
rackmount double conversion UPS to run 2 new 1U baby servers.
