Simon,

The problem with 1U UPSs is the batteries are very small, so runtime=20
is very short.
The APC 1Us I've seen had the equivalent of a single 12v 7Ah battery.
Can run 100 watt load for about 20 minutes.
Most servers are 200+ watts.

I have a new boxed APC 2U rackmount double conversion UPS.  And a=20
lot of extra battery cabinets for it.
