ICIH ... some quotes from my MS Windows XP Inside Out tome ...

MMC console can be run in author mode or in three varieties of user
mode. Author mode gives you full access to MMC's menus &
options ... name.msc / a ... where name is the file name of the
console file.

Many of the consoles supplied by Microsoft are set up to operate on
the local computer by default, but - provided you have appropriate
permissions - they can also be used to manage remote
computers ... .... name.msc / computer=computername ...

Hi Paul -

I tried turning off all the redirects & still seem to have the
problem. Not sure how to ensure I get to the console from the 'Mac
version - or if 'XP Pro RDP server actually allows anything other
than console (I don't think it allows multiple users, but I am not a
'Windows admin', so not up on this stuff).

Cheers

David
