RE: Re: Cheap ceiling speakers
Fitted the Sonance 622 & 623 single stereo speakers for customers
in the
past - generally in Utility or small Ensuite type rooms and they sounded
good, as good as the standard ranges. Not really suited to larger rooms but
you would normally go for standard speakers in a conventional stereo
layout.
I've fitted single stereo units in my new build Ensuite and Kitchen, stuck
to standard stereo or 5.1 surround sound in larger rooms. I've gone for
Flatline Acoustics in-ceiling speakers although these may only be available
through custom installers rather than through the usual hi-fi retailers.
Best regards
Neil

I used powered PC speakers for our bathroom.
I'd imagine that in a kitchen or dining room you're not really going to
need the ultimate in hi-fi reproduction - a kitchen has loads of
background noise, and in a dining room the music *is* the background noise.
I was quite intrigued by the single point stereo speaker (stereo sound
from a single speaker with dual tweeters). Has anyone here had any
experience of these? Do they work as advertised?
