Cheap ceiling speakers

I am after some ceiling speakers for kitchen and bathroom to provide
background rather than hi-fi audio.
Do I need 8ohm or some other type to plug into an old Rotel / Technics
amplifier?

I have been looking at CPC - any good places, or speaker recommendations?
