Homevision is about =A3650 less than free :)

On windows you can get xAP Floorplan from www.mi4.biz. It's a very capable
piece of home automation software.
HomeSeer has a couple of xAP plugins available and I believe you can get a
free 30 day trial.
On linux Misterhouse is xAP enabled, I couldnt really comment on how
featured it is as I've never used it. http://misterhouse.sourceforge.net/
If you have a spare Linksys NSLU2 lying around, you could try OPN-MAX.
Possibly the closest you'll get to Homevision as it's a stand alone,
embedded controller http://www.opnode.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=3Dhome
