Well yes - but i dont have the time to build my own now - so looking
for one that suits my requirements is my realistic option.

I found two more that can be suitable

4) Audiolab 8000DT announced in August 2007 - but not yet release -
appears to be a media pc designed for home cinema.  SSR GBP1700.

5) Toshiba Quosmio G40 - at circa GBP1000 - this is a notebook with a
built-in digital receiver and (i understand) another one can be added
in the pccard slot.  so pretty close to my requirements.  It has the
benefit that it can double as laptop.
