Also is it a leading or trailing edge dimmer too? Current or voltage
zero
crossing synced?



Will the lights be ok on dimmers that determine the load automatically and
change as needed or will they get into a loop of the dimmer changing its
mode of operation like some cheap transformers make happen?



Far too many variables at this stage to simply say it will/wont work till
it
is tested on varying dimmers. I suspect they say normal dimmer means series
connected cheapo triac one that you get from a hardware store, so things
may
not be as rosy as we think on something more advanced.

Can I also suggest that we nail down the definition of a "normal"
dimmer
switch?

Is that a "normal" potentiometer dimmer or a "normal"
electronic dimmer -
the two aren't the same. ;-)
