Thanks Tim, had thought about some kind of presence detection but the
mice
are very small so probably either lead to lots of false triggers or missed
triggers IMHO.
Composite cameras and modulators would work though, my Node 0 is at the top
of my stairs so gives easy access from the main loft & I have spare
inputs
on my RF distribution for the modulated feeds. Will have a google for some
B&W cameras to see what I can find.

Just wondering whether you could do this with a beam-break kit?
You migh have to mount the sticky sheets on a frame so anything
captured gets properly detected but it should be cheaper than cameras.
Ebuyer have done some cheap cameras in the past (with IR
illumination), not network though, just composite. But those and RF
modulators would get the images onto the house TVs.
