RE: Lost DVD drive



The most obvious things you should be looking at first of all are:

1) Can you see the drive in XP's device Manager - are there any symbols
next to the device
2) When you boot the PC, can you see the drive registering
3) If no - check cables secure/seated properly
4) Does the drive show any signs of life i.e. LED's/tray opens/closes etc?
