...but of course an HDMI connector has no provision for analogue (VGA)
video
so if your TV has only an HDMI input and no VGA input (or only a Digital
DVI
input) then you're a bit stuffed.

You *SHOULD* be able to drive an HDMI equipped TV from a Digital DVI feed
as
long as you are able to generate a display mode that the TV can handle.
