HD Beckons...

Well, after much complaining, I finally decided that it was time to
get HD.

My Sky HD box should arrive in the next day or so, and I hung the
shiny new Samsung 46" LCD TV on the wall yesterday.

Very impressed by XBMC over component video - good lord that's sharp
and bright - DVDs look truly stunning on this TV.. but I am hoping to
hook up a PC to the screen.

It has a VGA input, but I was thinking that DVI > HDMI should give a
better signal: however, the TV's manual says "don't attempt to
connect the HDMI/DVI port to a PC or laptop graphics card, as this
will result in a black screen".

eh?

Have I misunderstood something, or is this right? Can't you use a
DVI - HDMI cable to plug a PC into an HDMI telly?
