I assume though that the 770 has no cache? All album art would need to
be re-loaded and rendered with every screen refresh/change?

Indeed, I rarely use the web interface either.  However, if you have
gone and got all the album art for each album, then using a 770/N800
with the dedicated skin (web browser theme) for touchscreen devices
(actually originally developed explicitly for the 770) makes for a
very impressive music controller in the lounge - a unit that would
appear similar to the Sonos solution, which also includes album art as
I understand it.

The wiki I mentioned yesterday has got some 770 screenshots on it
running the web client.
