Re: [OT] Disk recovery
Hi
I have used software from this company
http://www.ontrack.co.uk
They are a professional data recovery company that will
also open a disk up to retrieve data if needed.
The software I used was EasyRecovery. You can download
a free trial which will tell you what can be recovered. You can
also recover single files with it, but this use isn't feasible if you
need to recover thousands of files.
I bought this through my company a year or so ago and it came in
useful to recover 'valuable' data was stored on scratch disks.
The standard version costs =A3150 or the lite version costs =A360.
The difference is that the lite version only allows 25 files per session
to be recovered.
To send the disk off for data retrieval is likely to cost from
=A3150-=A350=
0,
depending upon the company used and the severity of the disk damage.
It really comes down to how much are the lost files really worth?
