Re: Recording phone line
It is actually very simple to do with just a 56k fax/modem in the PC
There are many software packages out there (names elude me now)
which can basically detect a call coming in, and pick up the line
and start recording to a wav.
You also need to be very carefull regarding the legalities of it.
It is only legal to record telephone conversations for your own use,
provided you do not make them available to any third party by any
means such as transcription, email or otherwise (Unless you inform
the listener that the call is being recorded, and as such their
continued conversation is an acceptance of that condition). Any
thing you record without permission could not be admissible in any
court of law, if for example someone phoned your house and was
harrasing you or threatning you - even if that recording clearly
indicated who the person was - it's still not admissible.
