Unfortunately, the VMWare Server product (formerly called GSX
Server) in its current (free) form does not install on the
Workstation Windows OSs (2000 Pro, XP Home, XP Pro, don't know about
Vista).  There is no technical limitation there as the version just
prior to VMWare making it free works fine on the workstation OSs, so
it is only a licensing limitation imposed by VMWare.  :(

VMWare Workstation is well worth the price.  Also, if you are Linux
savvy, the Linux Server version is free and can be installed on
plenty of free Linux distros.

Andy, I also have done a bunch of Open-WRT x86 VMs (actually dd-
wrt).  Maybe we should discuss offline...
