Good link!

Well mine isn't HA but I do have a temperature probe it in to see
what is going and to make sure it hot compsts for as long as possible.

If you can generate internal heat of above 40 deg C then it hot
composting. Basically this means it doesn't smell and break down
materials very fast. usable compost can be achieved in 3 months.

Below 40 deg C and it is cold composting this is more likely to be
smelly and take much longer to produce compost of around 18 months.

For best results you need the mixture to be right in the summer you
can all loads of cardboard or shredded paper to increase the carbon
and balance the nitrogen from the grass cuttings. Other useful tip is
to get an aerator, basically a stick with a flexible barb at the end.
This gets oxygen into the pile to stop it going anerobic.

But at the end of the day don't worry too much just see what works
for you.

You may also want to have a look at www.homerecycling.co.uk the
duo/triple bins make it much easier to sort things at source.

BTW, my compost bin is currently at 55 deg C
