Found it - but it doesn't really help. All I get now is an
alphabetic list of all my albums, with no hint of genre or artist.
To me, the simplest interface is the folder hierarchy. I start with
a list of genres. Choosing a genre should give me a list of artists
in that genre - not all the artists in the entire collection.
Choosing an artist should then give me a list of their albums.
In both the iPod interface and now in Windows Media Player (and
Media Center), it seems I can filter my music either by genre OR
artist OR album, whereas what I really need with an 80Gb music
collection of some 15,000 songs is to filter by genre AND artist AND
album.
