Tim,

If your clients are unhappy about you collecting email etc then I
bet they will almost certainly block most sorts of outgoing VPNs as
well. The VPN available in the Draytek devices use the following
protocols - PPTP, L2TP, IPSec - most network admins will block these
protocols from leaving their networks, so you would be able to
connect (I have even come across ISPs that block these protocols
unless you upgrade to their business packages). As fas as companies
go its a security thing, basically these protocols bridge their
networks with the one that is being connected to and leaves them
open to infection by worms etc.

You would most likely be able to use an SSL and get access to your
home systems, however this is likely to be a very costly solution.

Your best bet may be to use one of the many products that allow you
access your home PC's from anywhere. I use GoToMyPC - however I am
somewhat biased here as I work for the manufacturer (I also happen
to have an SSL VPN at home although its a little noisey). Other
options may be:

LogMeIn
PC Now

Cheers,

Rob
