I don't know the SPV, but my old Orange Sony responds to the default
Bluetooth dialup string to get a GPRS connection.

I presume you've used the Bluetooth software on the laptop to discover the
phone, then to pair it and then to discover the phone's services ?

When I set mine up several years ago, the Orange Helpdesk put me through to
a dedicated data team who were excellent.
