Hay Paul :)

You can get exchange monitor to send you messages based on cpu/ disk
space and service accounts running or not.
Have a look in Exchange system manager, Tools, Monitoring. Set up some
notifications, and add some status to watch out for.
If you have a service go astray or cpu go through the roof or disk space
running out - it will generate an alert and tell you about it.
