I have found that I can get 4 6mm cables in 20 mm conduit, but its
chockablock.
Only 2 2.5mm twin & earth cable will fit in 20mm conduit - oval may
have been a better idea :-(

Talking to some friends in the networks world of BT and the general
maxim is 40% full by cable / conduit area, this is due to cables
snaking over oneanther etc. My experience over short runs is you can
fill the conduit, but I pulled all at the same time. I also found
this http://tinyurl.com/yyxnsb that
confirms the 40% rule.

For getting a draw string through the conduit I used a rag tied to
the string and a vaccum cleaner. The biggest problem was getting the
string off the cable - as it travelled about 4.5m in a second. 90
degree bends were no problem, although air leaks at joists were.
Similar to blown fibre I guess.
