'not sure I'd want auto-interrupt audio announcements - like those awful
TA traffic-announcements on the car-radio - it would be just a bit too
traumatic ... ... deep into whatever that was playing, rude
interruption, destroyed state of mind, & no benefit, because by 'time
'have come-round, the message has gone ...

for 'phone-calls, we use a phone-flash (like a flash-gun) to tell us
there's a call, without interrupting the music too-much ... but it would
be nice to have an LCD screen, too, to tell who was 'calling ...

on the theme of 'screens all-around the home, having a small one that
could continuosly show the Met'Office rain radar-map would be handy,
especially if it could also show snap-shots (snap-shots, rather than
video) of who was at the door, who was 'calling, etc ...

could Cat-5 cope with that ... ?
