Re: Infrared splitters / Connecting Blocks / Junction blocks

I am using CAT5 baluns that take infrared as well as audio and video
so there is no need
for any IR-over-CAT5

This is exactly what I am looking for here. "Infrared Distribution
Junction Box" also called
"Structured Wiring Junction Box" on other models.

http://www.iautomate.com/php-bin/ecomm4/products.php?category_id=&product_id=195&prev_id=&next_id=

This will take IR signals from 8 remote locations and combine into 1 set of
wires, which
will then feed into this "Infrared Connecting Block" which will
then drive upto 4 double emitters
allowing me to control 8 pieces of node0 AV equipment including the video
switch
which I have found

http://www.iautomate.com/php-bin/ecomm4/products.php?category_id=7&product_id=27

*Now* for some reason I cannot find any of these in the UK and for a decent
price, can only
find the xantech versions which are much more expensive here (as always).

Has anyone used these in node0 or know where I can source them, or even
buld them?
electronics wizards step in here ;)

If anyone is interested here is the video switch I am going to get which
looks tasty and also
cheap as well.... 8 inputs and 8 outputs, with one input being able to feed
all the outputs at
the same time!!! damn nice!!

Do you want multiple inputs from one room (zone), or inputs from multiple
rooms?

Frank's FirM Jr system sounds like what you need, although there's a
description of what it does / how it works here:

Frank is also on this list.

Cheers,

Tim.
