Chaps

Just a couple of observations - Ive been using my XBOX in 720p for a
couple of years on the projector. I have a v1.1 unit, and the quality of
the picture isnt that great. Certainly, games in 720p and 1080i look a lot
better, but the whole picture is very "washy". I do hear v3
onwards have a
different video chip, a Focus, but not seen one to verify if it's any
better.

If I take a DVD, and make an image, playing that through XBMC and the
Denon DVD player (both set to 480p) there is a massive difference in
quality. If you have a US GameCube, if you stick it into 60hz mode (480p)
it produces truly astounding quality pictures. It has a much better video
dac.

Also, avoid the 3rd party component cables. I originally bought a Joytech
cable, but it wont work with progressive modes - Joytech confirmed this. I
switched to the official MS cable, and been using that ever since.
