Are you sure? I thought they were both 65nm "Conroe" processors
with 65W
TDP ratings. The E6400 only has 2Mb L2 cache, but is physically
identical to the E6600 (the other 2Mb of cache is disabled - presumably
due to failing wafer sort with a terminal failure in one half of the
cache...).
