Any movement in the floor at all (at slab joints etc) would break the
conductors.

Why not run them in a length of PVC conduit? - or are we talking about
10's of runs?

Besides, it not good practice - I'd hate to do a job thinking that when
somebody looks at it a few years later, they start muttering about
cowboys etc!!!
