XAP Switchboard and the Meteor

I was thinking of buying the Meteor (hardware only version) and I've
read a few people on recommend it.

Does the XAP Switchboard only do the logging of start and finish times
or will it also record the conversations for me to mp3?

If not is there any free software out there that will do it for me?
