CCTV camera question

Hi All

I want to put a CCTV camera in my 8 month old daughter's bedroom so we
can keep an eye or her without getting up off the sofa - Surely that
counts as automation :-)

My cunning plan was to buy a cheapish camera from Maplin and connect
it to a 'CCTV In' connection I have on my Labgear distribution
amplifier in the loft. The issue is that the camera's I've seen all
come with standard video out connections suitable for connecting
straight to a TV and I'm assuming that isn't suitable for plugging
straight into the amp. Is it a particular type of camera I should be
looking for?

Thanks

Brian
