No bright ideas - just a hole in the floor above :-)
And yes you would have longer cables than if you mounted directly
behind but probably no more than 2m max, provided you can locate the
KAT5 boxes directly above the screen and come straight down the wall.

I've got lots of holes in my floors (all covered with removable
panels) from when I retrofitted my structured wiring. As long as the
panels/boards are screwed down securely afterwards they don't squeak
:-)

There's plenty of space in the void. Unfortunately I don't have a pic
of where the cables come up from in the wall below. Next time I have
the floor up I'll take one :-)
