Mine are the non-pumped versions.  You're right about the solenoid
valve -
basically H&C into the control/mixing unit, and that squirts out
blended
water.  The shower control and remote button both attach via a cable to the
control/mixing unit.  Need a photo?

I've just realised this could solve a problem we have with the current
shower - the mains pressure is very good and the shower drips a bit even
when turned off.

Presumably the axis showers have some sort of solenoid driven shut off
valve? Does the mixing happen in the control unit, or the remote bit?
