There is one *ADVANTAGE* to Dynamic Disks which no-one has yet pointed
out...

...if in three or four years time when a bit of critical RAID hardware

(such as your motherboard or RAID controller or whatever is actually
drivin=

your RAID array) then if the manufacturers are no longer producing that
controller or motherboard you are *COMPLETELY BUGGERED*. (And there is
nothing more frustrating than having data on drives which you know is
intac=
t
and completely workable but just not being able to get to it because you
don't have a replacement controller.)

At least with Dynamic Disks you are pretty much guaranteed that you will
still be able to resurrect that array as (as long as you can still install
the OS) you will still have software support for them. (I doubt that
Microsoft will drop support for them in the forseeable future.)
