If your running the 2 x 1GB sticks in Dual DDR mode then they *have*
to be =
exactly matched
i.e. you really needed to buy the sticks from the same manufacturer as a
ma=
tched pair.=20
Even two sticks of the same model from the same manufacturer can be
incompa=
tible, so=20
usually a manufacturer will pull two sticks from the production line and
te=
st them for
compatibility and then sell them as a set (at a premium!)

2 options spring to mind ;
1) if you have 4 memory slots (i.e. 2 Bank pairs) try putting the second
st=
ick in the other bank
so they are not interleaved.
2) Have a look in the PC BIOS and see if you can turn of DualDDR memory
acc=
ess.

If that doesn't work then check the BIOS and check for memory performance
p=
arameters ;
usually under clocking the memory slightly will solve this.

Cheers Shaf but the processor you have listed is =A3260 (ish), the mobo =
=A3160
(ish) and stick on 2Gb of DDR2 and that's another =A3140 (ish) - =A3560 wh=
ich is
about =A3400 more that I really want to spend! (=A3150 is as much as I eve=

spent on a mobo + processor previously as I don't "do" games.)

I'm not looking for cutting edge, just a sensible basic upgrade over my
current PC which is a P4 2.53Ghz with 1Gb DDR ... I went to put another 1G=

stick in it the other day (to give 2Gb) and the second DDR slot gives erro=
rs
(although the memory works fine in my other Athlon XP 2400+ / Athlon XP
2500+ machines). I could probably swap back to my XP 2500+ machine if I
really have to but I'd rather not.
