RE: [OT] Network link lights
What O/S? The embedded network card worked fine for me with
Server2003, bu=
t
as soon as I loaded XP Pro, it just refused to work. As I've got a bunch
o=

cheap network cards lying around, I just stuck one of them in and all was
fine.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Network link lights
I'm having an absolute mare getting a Dell Poweredge SC420 (one of their =
=A399
servers) to connect to our network.
I know a few people bought them here and wondered how they got on.
We have one already that was full price this is on network ok - but the new
one just wont connect the link lights on the back are on - though i've
noticed its one yellow and one red - is this correct ???
The existing server is the same and a Dell Optiplex SX280 is the same - but
all other PCs/Dells are one yellow and one green.
All these machines have Broadcom Gigabit ethernet on board adaptors.
The new one just keeps saying limited or no connection - on the switch the
10/100 and FDX/COL lights are illuminated so im sure this means its on
Any suggestions greatly appreciated - i tried new cables new ports on the
switch etc., but the bugger just will not connect.
Dean.
