RE: New HA server and business server strategy?

This is something I'll be doing in the future, using virtualisation. I
have=
a friend who has a single big machine with three virtual servers (using MS=
Virtual Server) running on it; each appears as a separate server. The adva=
ntages are:

a) Fewer physical servers; less power, space, heat, etc.
b) Backups; each virtual server is a single file (.vhd I think), which
mean=
s it can easily be backed up onto an external disc. Easy for restores.

Downside is single point of failure. My plan is to give each virtual
server=
it's own pair of mirrored discs for their OS and centralise all storage on=
to a raid nas box. I'll be using MS Virtual Server, but I suspect the
VMWar=
e solution is similar.
