RE: DVR v Windows MCE

Most of the big boys announced ViiV based Media Centers at CES. We've got
initial details of the Sony and Fujitsu-Siemens here
http://www.mediacomputers.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Intel_ViiV.html

ViiV is Intel's attempt to do a Centrino with Media Centers based on dual
cores P4s with 945 chipsets. The details are sketchy to say the least but
there is talk of SCART out amongst other things.

Just to complicate matters, I'm going to mention MythTV -
http://www.mythtv.org/

It's Linux based, so no Microsoft tax, and I believe the featureset
compares favourably to MCE, especially in a networked environment. On
the other hand it's a Linux based open source project, so you might run
away screaming at the very idea :)
