PC based video intercom? - and Intro

Hi All,

I'm new to the group, my name is Tim. I am rebuilding my house at the
moment and putting in CCTV with a DVR card in the PC. The next thing I
need to work out is the intercom.

Most of the retail units I have seen are primative black box video
intercoms. They don't integrate with anything. The custom jobs I have
seen are often ugly (beige plastic with tacky green/red buttons, and
tiny b/w LCD screens etc).

Q1 - What are you guys using for intercom?
Q2 - Are there any intercoms out there that integrate and aren't big $$$$$
