I have to say that I don't generally bother to protect it.

I do use different email addresses for different web sites (eg, I'll never
publicize my main email address).  However, I also use a (free) spam filer
called K9, which is excellent, and catches about 99.9% of the 400 odd spam
messages I get daily.  I'd *really* recommend it! (I don't have details
with
me, but I'm sure a google for K9 & spam would find it).

Of course, using a different email address for the web site means that I
can
always change it if I start getting a spam problem.
