RE: [OT] Anyone got a Tom Tom One?

The only other thing I can think of, that I don't believe anyone's
mentioned yet is the docking cradle... - I don't believe the TTOne has
one... - i.e. one that supplies power/external ant/voice mic connections to
the unit when docked. When I get in my car, I just have to dock my GO500 on
its shoe, and it immediately gets power (and automatically turns on as a
result), and is connected to an external mic. for use as a hands-free kit.
I believe the one doesn't have any such capability, and if you want to
power it from the car you have to plug in it's adapter... the One's holder
just being one to hold the physical unit, not provide it with any
connections... - might be a little extra faff setting it up for use each
time, - with the GO, I just plug and... GO...

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Anyone got a Tom Tom One?

Chaps,

I'm thinking of getting the wife a sat nav box, but as she won't be
using it that much, I don't want to spend too much on it (save that for
new toys for myself!). Having looked through Tom Toms website, there
doesn't seem to be much difference between the One and the 300 apart
from the One has faster CPU and the 300 has a soft case. Is this
correct? Anyone with any experience of using the TTOne? Any gotchas or
problems?

TIA,
Lee
