you don't say what type of light it's controlling (incandescent,
halogen,
etc) but given the current switch you could replace it with a AW10U (see
http://www.letsautomate.com/10030.cfm?)
There are other switch options.  I
assume you've something to then issue the X10 command to control the
switch?

You could then also get something like a MS16E Motion Sensor and stick that
outside to control the AW10.  If the switch was set to X10 address A2 and
the MS16E was set to A1 then dusk would turn on the switch automatically...
