Jim,
Yep definitely got cavity walls... all different sizes but definitely
cavity. I know because I've had to use a core drill through the rear
kitchen wall to fit an extractor fan, and while using a box sinker in the
front bedroom (cat5 box) the brick sheared and left a hole through into the
cavity.
I do agree that its slightly unusual for a house of this age :)
I'm sure both the materials (bonded beads and glass fibre) work , but am
interested in which works best or which is the best.
-> How is cavity insulation going to help there? :-)
Well not in itself, but by reducing the amount I spend on Gas heating the
place I will be more able to afford the running costs of the servers, also,
all that the heat generated by the server won't escape and so will
contribute to keeping the house warm :)
Marcus
