And even if it is not on your local LAN, you could add its address to
the Trusted Zone, and set the permissions appropriately there.
But to set the Internet zone to low, and/or enable all the ActiveX
options, is suicide...

Well I got a reply from Geovision:
Re: Verisign
Dear sir:
Thank you for your submit to Geovision Technical Support.
To answer your question, the reason of the problem is because you
connect to an old version of GV-system, therefore the verisign has been
expired.
To solve this problem, please adjust the security level to low and make
sure all ActiveX controls are "enable", please refer to the
picture
below."
Then there is a picture of IE security settings showing all activex
options enabled...
Then I thought of something else!!
IE6 has seperate settings for each "ZONE" namely Internet and
Intranet
zones have different options/settings. I have been changing the settings
on the internet and Geovision pc (which feeds cams to weblobby on the
touch screens) is on my lan..!!! Really stupid to miss that one...huh
Anyway, changed the security on the intranet zone and the activex stuff
downloaded and installed fine.
All is well again..
Hope this helps others
