There is a very simple "hack" approach to this and that's to
have an IR
enabled switch in the room with the correct scenes.
An 8ch Neo for example could have a range of scenes loaded on each
button, the Neo has a built in IR sensor for its 8 buttons.
Then simply add a macro on your programmable remote to select the button
with the scene you want.
Note that the IR remote for the Neo is an optional cost item. Unless you
happen to find a CCF or use a Harmony which has the codes already in the
database I believe.
Just need to ensure your switch is in line of sight of your remote or
use a tiny mirror to reflect it :-)

I want to be able to  press a buton on my learning remote for say dvd
and
then the lights dim and the dvd and tv come on, so you have to have ir
control over c-bus or is there another way?
