RE: Xbox softmodding
Actually I believe that's its possible to play Xbox Live with the
softmod since you can boot up without the softmod installed. The only
proviso is that you must have created your Xbox live account BEFORE you
softmod. The only disadvantage of softmodding are ;
1) it uses a bit of your harddisc space to store the softmod and
backup etc.
2) it is apparently possible for some games to update the dash and
unmod your xbox.. (of course you could then just softmod it again). Not
a big problem for me since I use them mainly as media players.
Having done both (Chippped with an Executer2.6 and Softmodded with
SID4.5 Installer Deluxe) I have to say now softmod every time.

None of the 1.6 versions can be tsop flashed - last one which could was
1.5
There's not much need for a table, as pretty much the only real
variation is
that with a modchip that allows switching you can still use Xbox Live
(when
it's switched "off"). Not a big deal for a media player really ;)
Ian.

OK, so next obvious question is, at which version (1.0-1.6b) did it
cease to be possible to use the TSOP flash method?
I checked at the weekend and my Argos one is a 1.6 (not "b")
Also, is there a comparison table anywhere that shows clearly what is
and is not possible with each mod method?
e.g.
Method Feature 1 Feature 2 Feature 3 etc...
MODCHIP Y Y Y
TSOP Y N Y
SOFTMOD N Y Y
Or do all the methods allow the same things to be done, thus negating
the point of such a table?
Cheers.
