Re: APC UPS shutdown of HA and other servers?

Hiya :)
APC do an ethernet expander ( dabs have one - APC remote management
adapter ) that plugs into the expander slot on most APC's. This has a
built in web front end to setup and control the apc. Theres a little
daemon that you then run on your window boxes that then connects to the
card to get power stats and what to do (shutdown etc)

Wayne.

However, it was quite unreliable and crashed the W2K3 server several times.
Since then (at least a year ago), I?ve not had proper UPS shutdown
protection on my HA server.

an option slot ? would some kind of Ethernet card be the best route and
powerchute on several PC?s???
