Re: Automatable lighting (LED?) for my loft?
Hiya Paul,
unfortunately no photos at the mo. Up to my eyeballs in plaster board,
filler and plaster dust (from the sanding of getting everything level! -
I haven't mastered plastering yet :-) )
The Ikea lights are supplied with little metal clips that fit snugly
around the light strip - there's a small hole in each - just big enough
for small nail / tack. that will be my method of fixing (sticky tape at
the mo though just to see the effect) - they can then be unclipped if
needed.
The El-Wire doesn't have a big spread really. You can see that there's a
blue 'glow' in the room - and I can make out things on the coffee table
but no detail. You know its a glass cause its glass shape and you put it
there to start with so to speak. Its more of 'effects' than useful. I
did get some 'reflective' type paint from Hobby Craft - pearl type just
to hopefully reflect a bit more. When I was originally putting this up I
was thinking about getting the thin plastic mirror strips or using an L
shape of it and fix the wire in there, just to try and give it a bit
more refection. I've seen it since but couldn't find it at the time.
I'll try and get some photos and post them on my site - bare with me for
the mo if that's ok?
Hope that makes sense :)
Wayne.

the el-wire look? Does it spread well up/down the wall even if positioned
very close?
