[OT] How can I "Ping" a particular port

  • Subject: [OT] How can I "Ping" a particular port

Hi guys

I want to make sure some port forwarding I've set up in my router works.
At the moment, I can't use the specific applications to test the access
so I thought the easiest way would be to ping the specific ports.

However, "ping <IPADDR>:<Port#> doesn't work so how can I
check that the
routing is set up correctly?

Can I do this using ping or is there another shell command I need to use
or even an alternative bit of software?

Thanks

Regards

Neil
