One other thing to consider... PCI-X is fully backward compatible with
standard PCI slots. - The extra part of the edge connector on the card
just overhangs the slot. Obviously you only get PCI rather than PCI-X
performance, but I have this arrangement in my media server, and I've
never found it a problem...
