Thanks for your reply Ho yin,

I'm still non the wiser. I can see the directory you are referring to
but there is no file(s) related to the drivers for the HP Laserjet and
Deskjet installed in that (Or any other directory).

I pulled the Laserjet (1012) out of the rack today and connected it
directly to the Mac by USB and hey presto instantly its installed as a
printer so those files are in there somewhere. But, I can't then change
it to an IP based printer as Ian suggested might be possible. Unplug it
and heypresto not a Laserjet 1012 or driver file in sight! :-/

I've even searched for files of the same name as the printer and files
of the same extension as those in the PPD directory but nothing.

The temptation to go buy a printer to use exclusively with the Mac is
growing!
